walking meditation

after I dropped Maddie off at camp this morning -she said I should go home, today - I came back home and started thinking on some things that needed some thinking on....

and eventually I picked up Planting Seeds : Practicing Mindfulness with Children.  by my brother Thay, Thich Nhat Hanh.

which led to more,

and deeper,

and a lovely idea that it would be a fine way to spend the week's mornings, while Maddie was occupied on the farm,

to just

so I made sure my ipod was charged, put The Art of Mindfulness in my ears,

and I drove back to the farm,

and went into its outer limits.

I arrived back

to where
I am supposed to be.

and it is good.

  1. So beautiful, Stephanie. This post exudes calm, centered, peaceful Mama energy.

Every time I go into the garden lately to weed or plant, it rains. I was feeling a bit put upon this last time. Instead of grumpily pulling weeds in the rain, I invited my girls to play in the rain with me. None of them wanted to. This was a first! So I danced in the garden by myself in the rain and munched lamb's quarters. It was a rare moment to myself and just what I didn't know I needed :)

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts!
