well, let's see.

there were crepes with strawberries for breakfast.

and there was tending the herb garden.  (again.  already did this once this season. but you know how it goes--"I'll just get this spot right here..." and then there you are, still an hour later - almost done, now.)
(three different roses, st. john's wort, sage, lemon balm, peppermint, lavender, chamomile, oregano, bee balm, bergamot, chives, rosemary, parsley)

took the slow morning walk around this tiny bit of land... admiring and sweet-talking the baby green things.
"Oh!  Just look at this beauuuutiful flower!" she said.

snails found for a snail race. o' course, we had to learn a bit more about snails at this point of our afternoon.

cicada treasure!

("Oh.... aren't his wings just beautiful, Mommy?")

time for the race.
Bob won! We also had Gary (naturally) and Slimy (also naturally).

there was origami.

games for Trevy and I.

Trevelyn is getting his seed potatoes ready.

there was art.

and we fed the birds.

and an evening walk -just the two of them- in rainboots and (still) jammies and with a bunny in a stroller.

a rather usual sort of day for us, hmm?
but very fine, none the less.

  1. I agree the wings are just beautiful and rather amazing.

Your game boards are wonderful, too!

  2. Brain games. The children enjoy them as much as I do! :)

  3. What a busy day!
I really envy your garden. I can't plant anything here since we're not the owner and leaving this summer, so I only have a bunch of cooking herbs by my windowsill.
BUT we have enough seed potatoes- We live on my FIL land, and he sells them for a living-.

Is the art on paper or fabric? I love the idea of how you displayed it.

  4. I do so envy your garden snails--we just don't have those around here?!?

Sometimes I find itty bitty ones in the soil...but never big beauties like Gary or Slimy!

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts!
