thursday : in color

Since we were all about sound vibrations and waves, I thought of something the girls at Plot55 did a year or so ago.  Spoon songs are pretty widely rang, I s'pose, but today was our turn.

So I found some glass that gave a satisfactory noise this morning, and started playing before Madeleine even woke up.

Eventually she took over mine, and created some of her own, as well.

One of the best parts for me was choosing a pencil that exactly matched the colors we had created.  :)

I offered Maddie a musical sheet (have had these for years but they can still be found here), and asked her if she'd like to create a song.

And we finished the pan flute.

And moved right along.

Mmmhmm.  You know she loves these pulleys.
And her little friends stood in line waiting for their turns on the elevator and zipline.

That took up a large part of her day.

I sat down with some art supplies for a minute.

And so.

an Angry Birds scene

The Amazing Mammoth Hunt.

It's been a while since we've played.

There was lots of Oregon Trail in there.
And Jurassic Park.

And there was a store again.... this time with a cash register, as no such thing as 'free' today.

A typical day at home, hmm?
It's a good life.

  6. oh, yay!!! i've been wanting to do this again - esp as E's been playing so much piano, might be interesting to do again. still haven't tried with a large group of kiddos...i'm a little intimidated.

things are looking pretty beautiful over there!

  7. What stood out in this post for me was that YOU sat down to do art...they followed. :) Some time ago I stopped asking them to put the video games and stuff down for art. I started doing it and would you know it...they come over to my side in no time! HEE HEE...

    I loved your day.
