a tuesday

Maddie likes it when she starts her day with Curious George.

After that, she got on the computer for a little video game play,
and then went to CoolMathGames. CoolMath 's good.

We hopped in bed with Trevy (who was still sleeping) and started talking about what we wanted to do with our day. Bike ride! Cookies! Baseball!

And then more...
Spore Galactic
and Peep.

Bubbles.

A little makeover.

Poetry.

Music.

Bill Nye. Dinosaurs!

And build.
skewers and clay

Citiblocs

Polydrons

Geoboard play.
Go here visit our friends for some lovely wooden-play creations!

Maddie built a habitat.
A tortoise habitat. (For her newly-found toy tortoise.) Complete with 'vermometer' - a 'tencturature' gauge (which is really a 'turkey baster' :) Lord help anyone basting a turkey with a pipette) and herb mix -Mama's favorite organic salad combo- and soft, plushy green grass to walk upon and a water bowl.

Trev created prehistory outside.
While Bessie - the tortoise - gets used to her new home and Madd explores Spore.

Along those lines,
Mama went downstairs to get our book Map Turtles and Diamondback Terrapins.
And In the Wild : Elephants, and Animals Under Threat: Peregrine Falcons, while I was there.

What about that bike ride?
Yep.

Fly Me To the Moon...
was next. Love Netflix.

Maybe...
Dophins Imax? Sea Monsters? Let me just say it again... Love Netflix. It's so awesome to see our favorite planetarium shows at home!

We're home and happy and warm,
and probably that will about do it for us, today.

All is well, then.
'Til tomorrow.

  4. Lovely day!

We're always looking for new uses for skewers here - they usually get incorporated into art. I'll have to show Hannah that picture.

  5. Curious, George, Bubbles, Makeovers... sounds like my seven year olds perfect day!
I love the idea of creating a habitat too! What an interesting idea.

  6. I can't wait until Netflix shows Sea Rex!

After Sydney's GIGANTIC make-up adventure for her fashion show this weekend, I went out to the drugstore and spent fifty bucks on "make-up artist" stuff for the girls--glitter eyeshadow, regular eyeshadow, glitter lip gloss, glitter. That's why we're having oatmeal for dinner tonight, but out of every single special thing that Syd got for that fashion show--the outfit, the attention, the flowers, the photographs, the admirers--the glitter make-up was the only thing that Will was jealous of. What else is a Momma to do?
